Although one of the other threads mentions that Inuyasha's running new episodes, I haven't really commented on any of them yet. And while last night's episode was good, it was Monday's that I found hilarious. We'd been talking about the prospects of Inuyasha coming to Kagome's world permanently, assuming he uses the Jewel to become fully human, and the fact that so far, Kagome hasn't invited him to stay. And here we get a good story about Inuyasha and how he's starting to grow on Kagome's family, and find a place in her world.
The "playing superhero" bit was funny, especially when he ended up on television, and the little girl drew the picture of her "dog-man". I suspect Kagome's mother gave him the lunch specifically to give him something to do, and make him feel a part of the family. And of course there was the scene with Kagome's brother, which makes twice now that Kagome has "seen" Inuyasha, to his once seeing her in the episode with the Tree Sage.
The most interesting thing, though, is when, after arguing with Miroku that he does NOT get tired, like "weak humans", and refusing to sleep so he can make sure Kagome finishes her studying, Inuyasha collapses on her bed and sleeps soundly, possibly for the first time in his life. I think that says more for his trust in Kagome, and that he feels relatively safe in her world, than anything else could have.
Of course, Inuyasha still sticks out like a sore thumb, which I think is why Kagome hasn't invited him to stay. She was too busy this time with her own problems than to be too irritated by Inuyasha, but it's obvious neither of them are ready. I expect, though, that Inuyasha will still continue to drop by uninvited. (And hopefully those eps will be as funny as this one)
The latest episode was kind of interesting, too, but it hasn't really been resoved, so I can't be sure where it is going. For a moment, I was concerned that Neraku was going to absorb Koga's fiance. (I forget her name, starts with A and ends in -me, but I can't remember the middle)
I thought the scene with Koga making the promise to marry her was interesting, he is obviously much older than her, which may be a complication. The scene reminded me a great deal of Tenchi Muyo, and Akane falling in love with her half-brother Yosho, when she was a child. It also reminded me of Ranma 1/2, and the scene where Akane carries female Ranma on her back. (Nothing wrong with Rumiko Takahashi stealing from herself...)
